Camel's Back Chute Project to begin week of Oct 17

October 13, 2016

A project to stabilize the Camel’s Back Chute will begin next week.

Heavy use and weather have eroded the sandy soils. This project includes the installation of stairs on the upper portion of the sand chute to stabilize the soils. The ski lift cables will be reused as hand rails along the new steps.

Trails in the area will be closed for safety and the contractor will use flaggers when crossing open trails. The 9th Street parking lot will remain open. Trail users are advised to be aware of their surroundings and yield to construction crews and equipment. Winspear Construction was awarded the $170,000 project.
