Table Rock trails open amid rehabilitation work
Boise Parks and Recreation, in collaboration with the Ridge to Rivers partnership and the Idaho State Historical Society have opened Table Rock trails to public access.
Signs and caution tape have been removed from the Old Pen trailhead and from the entrance to Tram trail.
Homestead trail in the Boise River Wildlife Management Area remain closed until further notice.
Trails were closed during the Fourth of July weekend due to fire damage. Fire operations have ceased in the area and the trails are safe for recreation. Trail maintenance and rehabilitation activities will continue in the coming weeks. For public safety and for the success of foothills restoration efforts, hikers must stay on the trails. Off trail traffic is strictly prohibited. Additionally, the area continues to be off limits for motorized use, unless part of official trail rehabilitation efforts.
As trail rehabilitation efforts progress, temporary trail closures may occur to allow to preserve public safety. Table Rock is one of Boise’s most popular trail destinations. In order to protect wildlife habitat, restoration efforts and trail rehabilitation efforts on this iconic landmark, the City and its partners urge all users to stay on designated trails.
