March 12 Trail Report
March 12, 2026 12:00 PM
Another day, but also another very similar condition report this morning after more dry weather for us yesterday. Trails continue to dry in the absence of any precipitation yet this week, but cloudy conditions and cool temperatures means that drying process has been slowed a bit. Forecasts for today indicate a similar weather experience as to the one we had yesterday.
As we have mentioned throughout the week so far, trails in the Lower Foothills continue to remain dry and good-to-go right now. Although a bit cooler than expected, get out and enjoy your favorite trail close to town today. Trails through the mid-elevations of the Foothills also remain mostly dry it appears, although there are certainly spots that are holding moisture and/or large puddles. It is still possible that areas that receive little to no direct sun during the course of the day may be muddy to this point. As you get closer to the Boise Ridge, expect to come across some snow in mostly shaded areas, such as on Upper Dry Creek or the very upper parts of Sweet Connie.
All in all it should be a great day to be out in the Foothills for a nice hike, run, or ride. Enjoy and get ready for next week’s weather where we’re being told that the mercury may touch up to 80 degrees!
