Bucktail And Two Point Trails

If you have ventured into the reopened trails in the upper Military Reserve area you will have seen that the trail experience is now markedly different. Most mature bitterbrush and sagebrush that lined sections of Shane's Loop, Trail 5 and Fat Tire as examples, are now black stalks. While grasses are already starting to green back up, it will unfortunately take many years for the brush to come back.

The surrounding black also makes these trails feel much hotter presently, so plan accordingly - bring plenty of water and go out during the cooler time of the day.
