January 9 Trail Report
January 9, 2026 8:00 AM
Please refer to our Interactive Map to take a good look at specific trail conditions today - there is quite a bit of variety out there. This map is updated by 8:15 daily, and again by 3:15.
We have a mild freeze this morning which means if you get out early, you will have lots of options. However, things will start to soften up by 9:30. There are many trails that you should be off of at that point, but lots of others that you can still use. One important note on the Interactive Map - Yellow means that the trail may be dry at the beginning, but you might run into long stretches of mud further out. You should be ready to turn around on these if necessary. Orange and white dashed means that the trail will be good while frozen, but will be muddy in the afternoon. These trails should not be used once the temps climb above freezing.
NOTE: Two Point Trail, Old Pen Trail and the section of Who Now Loop between Down and Out and the Buena Vista saddle are now closed. These trails have heavier clay soils and have been badly damaged in years past. This closure is in place to ensure that we all have good hiking and riding conditions once we hit spring.
Thanks for checking today's report!
