It looks as though we may actually see some afternoon sun today, although the high temperature is supposed to only hover around freezing.
Most trails remained frozen until later in the afternoon yesterday with many staying solid throughout the day due to the cold temps and heavy inversion. We can expect the same today if the inversion induced fog layer remains in place.
If the sun does appear later today it will be a game changer and trails containing much clay and on open hillsides will likely soften and become muddy.
