January 12 Trail Report

There continues to be a lot of options out there for the foothills trail user. With a 29 degree start to our day, early risers should have an abundance of choices as trails will be frozen. As the day begins to warm up and the suns comes out, trails will begin to thaw and conditions will change quickly for the worse. Trails with a heavier clay content should be avoided by late morning (think 10:30 - 11AM). This means you'll want to start these outings much earlier to avoid getting "stuck" in the mud. Trails further up into the system will be snow covered. Plan on wintery conditions at higher elevations.
