February 27 Trail Report

Happy Friday! We’re glad you are tuning into this morning’s trail report, as conditions out there are not what you might think! The beautiful weather would lead one to believe that trails have dried out, right? Wrong…we got over an inch of water Tuesday, and that combined with morning freezes is still keeping most trails quite soft and muddy. Even normally firm Lower Hulls Gulch Trail was soft and muddy in locations yesterday afternoon.

Please use our Interactive Map and limit your use to those trails indicated as “dry” or “dry at the start with the possibility of becoming muddy further up the trail” – and turn around if you do encounter muddy conditions – even if you are on a one-way trail like Polecat Loop, which will undoubtedly be muddy in the climb out of the main draw, and above Cartwright and Pierce Park Roads. We will do our best to get out today to see if conditions are improving and will update the Interactive Map accordingly.
