December 9 Trail Report
December 9, 2025 12:00 PM
Based on this morning’s weather report, we appear to be looking at one final day of scattered rain showers before temperatures seem set to get back to those more indicative of the middle of fall. The potential for 60s and sunshine could make this a fantastic week to take advantage of getting out on the trails before the holiday season picks up again. With that in mind, please be mindful that we have had a decent amount of precipitation since the end of last week and some of that moisture is likely to still be hanging around in heavy clay soils. Considering the extra rainfall expected today, please plan your trail outings accordingly this week.
Even with the extra moisture in the soil, all our experiences out on the trails recently have demonstrated that overall trail conditions remain quite good. Sandy soil trails especially have been in great shape and should remain among the first locations to check out after today’s rain. For more information on which trails are generally the best locations to try out first, please visit the Wet Weather and Winter Trail Use webpage at: https://www.ridgetorivers.org/trail-guide/trail-etiquette/wet-weather-and-winter-trail-use/. Also, for daily updates on specific trails throughout the system, please continue to utilize the Ridge to Rivers Interactive Map found here: https://www.ridgetorivers.org/trails/interactive-map/.
Thank you in advance for staying up to date on trail conditions throughout your Ridge to Rivers Trail System.
