December 7 Trail Report

The trails are expecting rain starting around noon. With the bit of wind and slightly warmer weather yesterday there were actually a few trails that started to dry out a bit and be somewhat tacky. However with the incoming rain there is a good chance that they will rehydrate and become soft and sloppy again.

The best recommendation is to get out earlier today if you want to be on the trails and have more options. As you are out, be mindful because of the wet weather we’ve been having this week that the start of the trail might seem good to go, however they will come to a point that it's too muddy to carry on. When you get to that muddy decision point it's very important to turn around and pick an alternative route. Of course if you do not want to turn around the all weather trails, Boise greenbelt, and 8th Street and Mountain Cove road are great options to avoid mud (and trail damage) all together.
