December 19 Trail Report
December 19, 2025 8:15 AM
We have truly entered that wet cold season to protect our beloved foothills. It's time to shift our focus to trails that can handle the moisture without eroding...
There are several trails that handle weather better and it's a good idea to find these trails during this muddy time. We recommend you check out the Wet Weather and Winter Trail Use tips webpage for a list of all-weather trails.
This Friday, we are expecting some rain especially in the afternoon. That means that there will be plenty of mud on the trails, of course our best recommendation are:
• The Boise River Greenbelt: Perfect for a flat, dry mile-burn.
• 8th Street & Rocky Canyon: These sandy/gravel roads drain beautifully and offer great elevation gains.
• Harrison Hollow: Generally handles moisture better than most, but use your best judgment!
Pro-Tip: If you see mud sticking to your tires or boots, you are doing the damage. Please turn back and head to the pavement.
