April 14 Trail Report
April 14, 2026 12:00 PM
A quick morning trail report here to simply say, while we may get a break from the steady rainfall today, trail conditions will continue to be exceedingly wet and sloppy until we are set to get even more rain tomorrow. Please consider today to be a trail alternative day, meaning, take the opportunity to explore the Boise Greenbelt, do a road cycling ride, or visit a local gym. Please give the trails a break for the time being.
By yesterday afternoon there was standing and/or flowing water in many locations throughout the Lower Foothills with very soggy soils to go with it. While all-weather trails may have firmed up overnight, please don’t be surprised if they are a bit soggy and squishy today as well. If there is a chance to get out for a short trail outing today, it will be on one of the all-weather trails or dirt roads. Higher up, there was plenty of fresh, new snow from the mid-elevations and above. Bogus recorded 20 inches of fresh snow in the last 24 hours and is predicting 5-10 more inches through tomorrow night! The base camera at the Mountain shows that plenty of folks have already taken advantage of the opportunity to enjoy a second crack at winter! If you have the equipment and the ability, this could be another great alternative to muddy trails here in the Valley.
Please continue to follow the links below for additional local trail updates and resources for the Ridge to Rivers Trail system. Thank you for being patient once again while we ride out this recent round of very wet weather!
